What is the Mouth-Body Connection

Now, some people might realize the importance of their oral health on the body, others might not. Even something as small as a cavity does connect to your overall heart health, brain health, and even how your biome is. Teeth are so important to bodily function, and it’s kind of an adage that what happens to the mouth will happen to the body. The first thing, is that there is a barrier between the gums and the rest of the body. Now, the barrier will break down with every inflammation and infection, which causes problems in the rest of the body. The mouth is the only place where the structures similar to bone will come out of the skin. You might not realize how prone to infection that it is.

Now, is most of the population has diabetes, that would be considered terrible, however, almost of the population has some form of gum disease, which triggers illnesses throughout the rest of the body. If it gets past the seal, it’s very serious, and these can get inside the body, affecting many other parts of the bloodstream. Once it gets past, you might get an infection to another part of the body, an injury such as the exotoxins that can cause injury to the tissue, and inflammation, which is what happens when a foreign entity is present in the body. This might cause constant inflammation, which can be fatal. These chronic inflammatory diseases are no joke, and they should be treated as serious.

Now, there are many diseases that you could get from this and other conditions as well. IBS, prostate and breast cancer, weight gain, cancers of various types, premature birth, heart disease, osteoporosis, and diabetes are all conditions that can be in the body because of the barrier being broken.

Now, it’s more than just brushing and flossing, and it’s important to remember that. When you’re working with your oral health, your main concern is to prevent the breakdown of the girdle around there. Make sure that it stays closed so that the rest of the body doesn’t get hurt. There are a few things that you can do however.

You should brush after every meals and floss at least once a day, preferably more. You should definitely see your dentist regularly, every six months or every four months if you’re at risk for gum disease. They can catch this at the earliest time, and while they might not get better, they can be stopped. You should definitely eat more super foods as well, along with foods that will promote remineralization, which is a natural process that helps to prevent cavities.

Finally, you should make sure that you can clean all of your teeth in a proper manner. If you don’t crowd your teeth, you’ll be able to clean these. However, by crowding this, it might prevent you from doing so. Do make sure if you need to get rid of your wisdom teeth, do so right away.
